As discussed in the Discord server, we have made some changes to the Anniversary Event. These changes were prompted by a desire to return to some sort of community-focused effort to work toward bettering the AE, by the community. Rather than return to the mundane and menial tasks of gathering, breeding, taming, and collecting—we have elected to use two independent systems in order to allow the community to work toward enhancing the AE experience.
Event Participation
The first up is event participation. Every time anyone participates in the event, we count da heads and creep closer to completing each of the four milestones needed to reach eternal bliss. The milestones are as follows:
- Tier 1-50 participants
- Tier 2-100 participants
- Tier 3-150 participants
- Tier 4-200 participants
Every time you participate in any event you are counted, so we aren’t looking for 200 unique participants. Additionally, the number of participants required to complete each milestone may fluctuate up and down with the cluster population and ease of completion. The enhancements for completing each tier are as follows:
- Tier 1-1 day added and an increase in the XP Multiplier to 1.75
- Tier 2-2 days added and an increase in the XP Multiplier to 2.5
- Tier 3-3 days added and an increase in the XP Multiplier to 3.25
- Tier 4-4 days added and an increase in the XP Multiplier to 4.0
Completing all four tiers will add 4 days to the AE—for a total of 7 days—and see the XP Multiplier during the event increase to 4x. Additionally, once all 4 tiers are completed a special high-end, non-tek, prefabricated item set will be added to all of the red cave drops. This item set will drop a handful of the best items in the game at mostly Ascendant quality. Yes, you still have to do a bit of work to get it, but it will be worth the effort.
Cluster Donations
The second system will involve cluster donations. Each time we reach $300 in cluster donations, the next AE will be extended by 1 week. Once we reach the $300 milestone, it resets and we being again. We figured this would be a good way of enhancing the quality of the donations already being made, and everyone gets to benefit.
Color Events
Of importance to you was whether we would still be running color events during the AE. Yes, yes we will. Color events will happen regardless of milestone completion.
In Effect
As of this posting, these two systems are in effect. Arenas will be going up as quickly as I can get them up, and we will commence with running events throughout the month.
